Blomat
Jetting Machine model "E"
Features of Blomat model
"E"
This is exclusive sub-material
jetting machine for EAF with pressure tank with dust free operation.
Standard tanks' capacities are
within 1.0 and 5.0m3.
It has been delivered with success not only for
EAF, but also for ladle, LF, VOD, etc...
It is possible for you to select
a proper one out of those lined-up ranging from the high-performance models to
the economy models which are equipped with minimum requisite
functions.
It is possible to jet automatically and operate
easily.
It has an excellent stability in discharging and is possible to
change q'ty steplessly which is most necessarily required for jetting into
EAF. (There is a certain range depending on the model.)
It is possible
to jet every kind of sub-material, so long as it is less than 5 mm in
diameter. It could be used without any difficulty for sub-material such as C,
Al, FeMn, FeSi, SiC, CaO, power iron, Cr, Pb, etc...
There are two major
series, namely BLOMAT "E" and "D" series in accordance with the purpose of
jetting operation. BLOMAT "E" shown below was developed in 1973 exclusively
for EAF.
BLOMAT "E" is equipped with plane feeder under its tank,
superior in constancy of jetting q'ty and easy to change discharge
q'ty.
There are different kinds of model line up to be controlled by
Relay timer, PLC or Computer, etc...
BLOMAT is inspected by the category
2 pressured vessel inspection based on JIS without any exception before
delivery. After passed the inspection, it is delivered.
Constancy of jetting
q'ty.
This means constant q'ty of discharge
under the given constant conditions of jetting without any hose
pulsation.
Easy operation for changing
discharge q'ty and jetting speed.
In making
forming slag, too much jetting of C powder may cause any bigger swelling of
forming slag leading to closure of slag opening. Once jetting is stopped, in
turn, production of effective forming slag is reduced. Therefore, it is most
desirable for jetting machine to steplessly adjust jetting q'ty so as to keep
the optimum foaming slag condition.
Easy operation.
As it
is the busiest time for controlling composition and temperature when jetting is
operated, so it is most desirable for operator to operate the machine with
ease.
Easy control of jetting
data.
Knowing remaining q'ty in tank means
knowing the best timing of material q'ty, etc. in an overall furnace
operation. Linked with the computer for EF, it becomes possible to record the
process of overall operation.
Injection of Carbon
Powder
Carbon powder
is jetting into EAF at almost all the iron & steel works in
Japan. Materials such as coke breathe (containing CDQ powder), graphite
powder, etc. are used for jetting, through the dominant material is CDQ
powder.
Major merits of using C powder for jetting are as
follows:
(1) As q'ty of O2
increases, C powder jetted deoxidizes (O) in molten steel easily.
(2) It is possible to
add Carbon efficiently and with better yield to molten steel already
deoxidized.
(3) Forming slag
by-produced at dexoidation brings secondary merits.
- Forming slag changes are into submerged arc which leads
to improvement of thermal efficiency.
- Arc being submerged, the melting loss at the hot spots on
wall of furnace reduces. - Submerged arc lowers noise level. - Jetting of
C powder and O2 and the use of burner reduce electric cost remarkably. Along
with other improvements of operating technology, etc., there are some works
where electric cost has been reduced by 20 to
30%
